This year we will be playing Under 7 & 8 Mini Tag Rugby, U9 & 10 Mini Contact Rugby, U11 & 12 Midi Rugby and Under 13/14 & 15 Youth Rugby. Boys and girls play together up to Under 12 level and after that it is boys only.
Mini and Junior Rugby is open to both members and non-members of the Bank of England Sports Club and we are especially keen to welcome new members. Subscriptions for the 2011/2012 season will be £65 for members and £85 for non-members. This covers all training sessions, tournaments and the end of season awards lunch.
We train at the Bank of England Sports Club on Sunday mornings. There are slightly different start times for the different age groups. U7 to U12 start at 9:45am, Youth at 11:00am, both for 90 mins. Although we always try to avoid it, sometimes conditions are so wet or cold that rugby has to be cancelled. If it looks as if this might be the case then, before travelling, either call your head coach or call our information line on 07951 957662 for up to date news.
We are also very lucky to have the use of the Bank of England Sports Club facilities. It is sometimes forgotten that there are changing rooms and showers that the players can, and indeed are, encouraged to use. Once the weather becomes wetter players are asked by the sports club to change before coming into the clubhouse.
We play a good number of other clubs each season either at single fixtures, where we play one other club, “triangulars” where three clubs play a fairly informal knockout tournament, and larger tournaments organised by other clubs and Middlesex RFU with whom we are affiliated.
We try to make sure that every boy or girl gets a chance to represent the club. As always at ‘The Bank’, our primary focus is on FUN and we do not support a ‘win at all costs’ philosophy. Having said that, we always try to perform to our best at every training session, fixture, triangular and festival. Someone once said: “Take care of the performance and the results will take care of themselves!”
Youth players who are thinking of County Trials at age U14+ will be pleased to hear that we have unrivalled links through to the Middlesex County Squad Structure where three of our coaches are active County Coaches/Squad Managers and two are County Referees.
Health and safety is taken very seriously and every week we have one, sometimes two, qualified nurses who can immediately take care of any injuries. All Head Coaches are qualified First Aiders and we run courses in First Aid and Child Welfare during the season. Please contact the

if you are interested in these courses and volunteering to help run the club. We are fortunate to have a large number of dedicated coaches, the great majority of whom have coaching awards with the RFU. We insist that the head coach of every age group achieves a significant RFU coaching qualification.
In conclusion, you will find that the Bank of England offers children the opportunity to play rugby in a safe environment where the emphasis is firmly on having fun. I hope you will enjoy your rugby with us this season.
